Edukasi Ekosistem Laut melalui Visualisasi Mikroskopis Plankton bagi Siswa SD Allang Asaude

Latar Belakang: Rendahnya pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar terkait komponen dasar ekosistem laut, khususnya plankton sebagai dasar rantai makanan, menjadi tantangan dalam upaya edukasi lingkungan pesisir, terutama karena karakteristiknya yang mikroskopis dan tidak mudah diamati secara langsung.
Tujuan: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi kelautan siswa melalui pengenalan plankton sebagai dasar rantai makanan laut.
Metode: Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 45 siswa kelas V dan VI SD Negeri Allang Asaude dengan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif, partisipatif, dan aplikatif melalui penyampaian materi berbasis visual, diskusi interaktif, serta pengamatan mikroskopis plankton (fitoplankton dan zooplankton). Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan metode pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman siswa.
Hasil: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan, dari 0% pada tahap pre-test menjadi 95% pada tahap post-test. Selain meningkatkan aspek kognitif, kegiatan ini juga mampu menumbuhkan minat belajar serta kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya menjaga kelestarian ekosistem laut. Dengan demikian, edukasi berbasis visualisasi mikroskopis plankton terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep ekosistem laut sekaligus membangun kesadaran lingkungan sejak usia dini.
